To achieve the best possible results, multiple treatments may be needed, typically spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart. The exact number depends on your skin concerns and goals. After examining your skin and discussing your goals, your aesthetician will recommend the ideal number of treatments for you.
You may start noticing improvements such as brighter, clearer skin and reduced pigmentation within a week or two after your first treatment. Collagen production continues to build over time, so skin texture and firmness often improve over the following 3 to 6 months.
BBL® HERO™ treatments generally involve minimal downtime. Most patients experience mild redness or warmth immediately after, similar to a mild sunburn, which usually fades within a few hours. However, depending on your skin’s response and the treatment intensity, some redness, swelling, or peeling may last for 5 to 7 days. Pigmented spots may temporarily darken before flaking off. You can typically return to most normal activities quickly but should avoid direct sun exposure and use sunscreen to protect your skin during recovery.
BBL® HERO™ can be safe for many skin types, but it’s most effective and carries the lowest risk for lighter skin tones (Fitzpatrick types I to III). For darker skin tones (types IV to VI), there is a higher risk of pigmentation changes, so treatment must be carefully customized by a trained provider. That said, BBL® HERO™ is a non-surgical treatment with minimal discomfort and low downtime, and it’s generally considered safe when performed by experienced professionals.
