How you prepare your skin before, support it during, and protect it afterward can make all the difference in comfort, safety, and long-term results. Pre Treatment Instructions

The treatment area should be shaved the day of or day prior to treatment
Prior to treatment remove any makeup, cream, SPF, deodorant
Avoid prolonged sun exposure and to apply daily SPF 30+
Depilatories, waxing, plucking, or electrolysis within six weeks before treatment may reduce the efficacy of the laser hair removal treatment

Treatment Expectations

Session length depends on the area—just a few minutes for small spots, up to an hour for larger zones like legs or back
Your provider begins with a consultation to review your goals and create a personalized treatment plan
The skin is cleansed and sanitized before treatment starts
The SplendorX handpiece delivers precise laser pulses while cooling technology keeps skin comfortable
Most patients describe the treatment as low to no pain, even in sensitive areas
After treatment, your provider will share post-care instructions and schedule your next session

Post Treatment Instructions

Avoid direct sunlight and use SPF 30+ as directed for daily incidental sun exposure
Avoid the use of deodorants or fragrance on treated areas as long as the skin is sensitive or fragile
Avoid any activity that would increase blood flow to the treated area (vigorous activity, sauna, running, or walking) in the first 24 hours
Mineral makeup may be applied the following day
Use hydrating, moisturizing topicals
No waxing, tweezering, electrolysis, electric epilators, depilatories
Razors and traditional shaving are recommended for maintenance between sessions

Follow-Up Treatment

An average of 4-6 sessions is required for clearance
Session intervals are approximately every 4-8 weeks (per body location and matching growth cycle)
In the event of prolonged healing, remaining erythema/edema, or residual side effects, postpone subsequent treatments until full clearance
On skin of color, it is recommended to observe longer session intervals to decrease the incidence of PIH
Allow at least 3 months to evaluate final clinical outcome on the hair reduction
