Men's BroadBand Light (BBL®)

Broadband Light Therapy (BBL®), also known as Photofacial, is a state-of-the-art skin care treatment that erases sun damage and stops making you appear older than you really are.

BBL® therapy uses a laser to help combat hyperpigmentation, visible facial veins and uneven skin tone, among other concerns such as sun spots, redness, age spots and fine lines. BBL® facials help to restore your skin to its natural beauty to make it clearer, smoother and more vibrant.

The treatment uses a laser to gently heat the upper layers of your skin which helps to stimulate skin cells to generate new collagen and will help to improve the overall look of your skin.

Due to a number of reasons, including sun damage, pollution, aging, harsh cleaners and incorrect products, your skin can look tired, dull or wrinkled. BBL® therapy helps to combat all of these and leave you with younger looking skin.

BBL® treatment is a non-surgical, non-invasive treatment with very little recovery time. You should be able to return to work or your daily routine immediately after BBL® therapy so it provides a quick and effective way to rejuvenate your skin.

How does BBL® work?

Using a handheld device, our certified aesthetician will carefully pass the device over the entire treatment area delivering pulsed light directly to the skin. The heat emitted by the pulses prompt your skin cells to produce new collagen. It also activates a healing response in the body that erases pigmentation issues, bringing any damage out to the surface of your skin only to flake off on their own.

Collagen is a foundational protein in our skin cells that provide scaffold-like structures to support a youthful appearance. An abundance of collagen is what makes our skin appear smooth, supple and youthful. However, as we age, our bodies produce less collagen and the collagen that we do produce is less firm than before. Add in the damaging effects of the sun, namely ultraviolet rays, and our collagen production takes a big hit, making rejuvenating skin care treatments essential to restore our skin’s health.

As long as the device can lie flat against the skin, the pulsed light can be used on many areas of a man’s body. The most frequently treated areas are the:

BBL® is the treatment that keeps on giving. In the months following your treatment, your skin will continue to boost collagen production. Skin will appear smoother and brighter, pores will also look smaller, and blemishes and discoloration will fade.

The length of the appointment depends on the treatment areas, but treatment typically takes anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. After a BBL® treatment, your skin may be red for a few hours. Most people are able to go back to work and resume other normal activities immediately. Our team will make sure that you have complete aftercare instructions to protect your results, which includes avoiding direct sun exposure.

How many treatments will I need?

While you may notice visible change after one treatment, it’s very common that more than one BBL® treatment may be required. Only an aesthetician can determine how many treatments you will need.
